damage to the vessel as well as the bay bridge. they came out and discovered there was no oil in the water. the only fuel that was carried was the field of the vessel itself needed. >> there were cars on the bay bridge at the time. there were no reports of any injuries. they're looking into whether or not this was human error because there was a pilot that guides the vessel out to sea we had a chance to talk to caltran. they investigated the whole thing to make sure that the superstructure was fine. here's what they had to say about the damage to the bay bridge. the very first thing our inspectors look for is to make sure that the superstructure of the bay bridge is a. the initial investigation showed that the offenders who performed as it was designed. about 30-40 ft. of the system has

>> it looks like the ship will be here for the next 24 to 48 hours. the coast guard just wrapped up with the briefing. we plan to deal with their 930 when they talk to the media. we will try to bring a live shot when that happens. we do know they did toxicology tests on the crew and the pilot to make sure they were so were at the time. the results are not bad but they do believe that possibly this was human error and not mechanical failure. they check the instruments on the vessel and looks like everything was working at the time. a visibility was not great at that time of morning yesterday but they do not believe that it was so bad that they did not see the superstructure of the bay bridge went out to sea. fortunately there was no oil inside the vessel at the time. also it was double hold so if there was a risk which there was not it was protected. -- double hulled

that came out to inspect the bay bridge to make sure it was fine and it looks like there is only superficial damage to the vendor. it is there to prevent things like that. two of your best shot from the vessels. it was bent a little bit but nothing that will that affect traffic whatsoever. we plan to go over to the news conference and keep it here on kron4, we will run over there and try to bring it to you and about 25 minutes from now. >> the bar pilots are navigating vessels in 2005 and is believed he had a collision free record according to a spokesperson with the bar pilots association. there is a video from our helicopter at abc news. the bar pilots name has not been released
